# Adding a task to an item in a specific analysis

The below procedure gives an example of adding a task to a column in an analysis. You can follow the same steps to add tasks to other elements in the created analyses.

## Before you begin

At least one analysis has been created in the Profiling perspective.

## About this task

You can also add a task to a report under the Reports node.

## Procedure

1. In the DQ repository tree view, expand Analyses.
2. Expand an analysis and navigate to the item you want to add a task to, the account\_id column in this example.
3. Right-click account\_id and select Add task... from the contextual menu.

4. Follow the steps outlined in [Adding a task to a column in a database connection](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/studio-user-guide/8.0/adding-task-to-column-in-database-connection) to add a task to account\_id in the selected analysis.
