# Validating user impersonation

Perform these steps for each impersonated user.

## Procedure

1. Use sudo to log in interactively as the same user as the JobServer is running as.

   In a default configuration, it is talenduser.
   ### Example
   ```
   sudo -i -u talenduser
   ```
2. Check the shell used.
   ```
   ps -p $$
   ```
3. Check that Java is available on the PATH.
   ```
   java -version
   ```
4. Confirm that it is the intended Java version.
5. If it is not, do one of the following:
   1. Modify the secure\_path configuration in sudoers to include the Java directory.
   2. Add a symbolic link to the Java executable explicitly under /usr/bin.
