# Talend Dynamic Engine

Dynamic Engine v1.7.0 removes classic kubectl manifest deployments for new engines and environments; existing kubectl deployments require full redeployment with Helm deployment files.

## Deprecated and removed items

| Item | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Classic kubectl manifest deployments | Starting with Dynamic Engine
v1.7.0, the classic deployment method based on plain Kubernetes manifests is no
longer available for new Dynamic Engines
or Dynamic Engine
environments. Use
[Helm deployment files](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/dynamic-engine-configuration-guide/Cloud/deploy-with-helm-values-files) for new
deployments. Existing engines and environments deployed before v1.7.0 using
kubectl cannot be upgraded or migrated in place to Helm. Fully redeploy
them using Helm deployment files. For the legacy procedure and its limitations,
see [Deploying with standard manifest files](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/dynamic-engine-configuration-guide/Cloud/deploy-with-standard-manifest-files).
This removal does not affect the kubectl CLI commands used for
troubleshooting and diagnostics on Helm-deployed clusters. |
