# Installing Talend Studio

## About this task

If you downloaded an installer file, mount the image, then double-click it and follow the installer steps to install Talend Studio. You don't need to indicate a license file. Your license will be automatically retrieved when you connect to your Talend Cloud account from Talend Studio.

If you downloaded the generic archive file, you must unzip it to install Talend Studio.

## Extracting the archive

Follow these steps to install Talend Studio from the archive.

### Procedure

1. From the command line, go to the location of the archive.
2. Run the unzip command: unzip <Talend-Studio-archive>.zip

   Optionally, use the -d parameter to specify the target directory for the extracted files. For example: unzip Talend-Studio-20200219\_1130-v7.3.1.zip -d ~/Talend
