# formatNumber

Creates a string with the input numeric value formatted with a specific pattern.

Information noteNote: This feature is only available in Talend Cloud Pipeline Designer and Talend Data Mapper.

## Arguments

1. Numeric value.
2. String pattern. The pattern should follow the Java DecimalFormat pattern. For more information, see the[Oracle documentation](https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/text/DecimalFormat.html).
