# Number Formats

Depending on the countries, numbers may have different formats. Here are the different formats used in Talend Data Preparation.

| 1,545.12 (US, UK, China, etc...) | This standard is mainly used in English-speaking countries<br>and other countries such as China. | comma | period |

| Scientific | This standard is used to write numbers using scientific<br>notation.<br><br>In this standard, 3e2 represents three times ten<br>raised to the power of two, or 300. | comma | period |
