# Working with structures

A structure contains a collection of elements that describe the contents of a type of document.

In the Hierarchical Mapper, you can find under each structure a Document Bindings folder containing the documents linked to the structure, such as the sample document used to create it, and a Representations folder containing the structure's representations.
