# Editing a data quality rule

## About this task

Information noteImportant: Editing a rule from the Data quality rules tab impacts all the datasets to which the rule applies.

To edit a rule applied to a specific dataset, see [Editing a data quality rule](https://help.qlik.com/talend/en-US/data-inventory-user-guide/Cloud/editing-a-rule-from-dataset) in Managing datasets.

## Procedure

1. Log in as a rule manager.
2. In the left panel, click Data quality rules.
3. Click the rule you want to update.
4. Update the rule and click Save.
