# Managing users

Manage the users from the Manage users page.

In Talend Data Catalog, users are defined to:

* identify who is the author of an object or an action in the catalog,
* determine the license usage,
* assign the global roles directly or through group assignment.

By default, the Administrator user has all privileges, is not a member of any group and cannot be deleted. It is the only user defined when Talend Data Catalog is installed.

## User statistics and server audit log

All user logins, login attempts and actions on objects are recorded in a server audit log.

## Report of user statistics

A complete report on the user statistics is available in the Manage users page by clicking the Download icon.
