This content is deprecated.

Information noteImportant: This component has been removed from Talend Studio 8.0 R2025-04 onwards. Use tHTTPClient or tRESTClient instead.

Serves as a REST Web service client.

The tREST component sends HTTP requests to a REpresentational State Transfer (REST) Web service provider and gets responses correspondingly.

## tREST Standard properties

The Standard tREST component belongs to the Internet family.

Information noteNote: This component is designed for Data Integration Jobs. It is not supported in ESB use cases. To build Jobs that need to be deployed into the Talend Runtime, use the tRESTClient or tHTTPClient components which are best suited for the Talend Runtime.

The component in this framework is available in all Talend products.

| Properties | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Schema and Edit
Schema | A schema is a row description, it defines the number of fields
that will be processed and passed on to the next component.

This component always uses a built-in, read-only schema that
contains two columns:

- Body: stores the result from
the server end.

- ERROR\_CODE: stores the HTTP
status code from the server end when an error occurs during the
invocation process. The specific meanings of the errors codes are
subject to definitions of your Web service provider. For reference
information, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_HTTP\_status\_codes.

Click Edit Schema to view the
schema structure.

Information noteWarning:

*Changing the schema type may result in loss of the
schema structure and therefore failure of the
component.* |
