# Configuring the input component

## About this task

The input data contain seven columns: *lname*, *fname*, *middle\_name*, *address*, *city*, *state\_province* and *postal\_code*. The data have problems such as duplication, names spelled differently or wrongly, different information for the same customer.

## Procedure

1. Double-click the tFixedFlowInput component to display its Basic settings view.
2. Select Built-in and click the […] button next to Edit Schema.
3. Define the seven columns and click OK.
4. Select Use Inline Content(delimited file).
5. Fill in the Row Separator and Field Separator fields.
6. Enter the input data in the Content field.
