# Designing and documenting a movie catalog API

Design and document an API allowing you to browse a movie catalog and add movies to it.

Talend Cloud API Designer allows you to easily design, document and share an API definition. In this guide, using the example of a movie rental company, you will create a simple API with a data type and three operations.

You will also document your API by using the Description field available for every element. You can then generate a live preview of the documentation that can be accessed by anyone, depending on the visibility you define.
