Creating On-Demand reports

Reports enabled for On-Demand in Qlik NPrinting are created in the Qlik NPrinting window within the QlikView Access Point interface. The Qlik NPrinting window also displays completed reports for download and reports in queue.

When you choose to create an On-Demand report, the report is added to the report creation queue on the Qlik NPrinting Server. Once a report is complete, it is stored in the Qlik NPrinting repository, but can be downloaded in QlikView. Reports can be accessed from the Qlik NPrinting window in the QlikView Access Point until deleted. Reports and reports in queue are automatically deleted from the Qlik NPrinting Server after 30 days. You can only view your own reports in the Qlik NPrinting window, not those belonging to other On-Demand users.

Information note

Access to On-Demand reporting is set in security roles and is applied at an app level. This limits access to On-Demand reports on an app-by-app basis.

Before you begin

Note the following:

  • The Qlik NPrinting On-Demand Add-on must be installed on the QlikView Server.
  • The Qlik NPrinting administrator must assign On-Demand users a security role with On-Demand Create authorization.
  • Users creating On-Demand reports in QlikView must have their Windows Active Directory user account associated with their Qlik NPrinting web console user account.

See: Creating users with filters and groups.

  • Users creating On-Demand reports in QlikView must have a domain and user associated to their Qlik NPrinting web console user account that matches the domain and user of their QlikView Server Windows Active Directory user account.
  • Applying section access and current selections present in the QlikView document is supported.
  • On-Demand sessions appear in the QVS Statistics tab of the QlikView Server, but do not count against session CAL totals.

Accepting the Qlik NPrinting web console certificate

Before you create On-Demand reports, log into Qlik NPrinting web console. The default installation certificate for Qlik NPrinting web console can be registered as invalid by browsers. If your browser registers the Qlik NPrinting web console certificate as invalid, you must accept the Qlik NPrinting web console certificate before you can use On-Demand in QlikView Access Point.

Information note

If you use a different browser or clear your browser’s cache, you will have to re-accept the Qlik NPrinting certificate.

Do the following:

  1. Navigate to your Qlik NPrinting web console.
  2. Depending on your browser, choose to continue to the Qlik NPrinting web console or add a security exception and continue to the Qlik NPrinting web console.
  3. Log into your Qlik NPrinting web console.

You can now use Qlik NPrinting On-Demand in your QlikView Access Point using this browser.
