Enabling SAML in Qlik Sense Enterprise using Auth0

You can configure your Auth0 application to use SAML for authentication in Qlik Sense Enterprise for Windows.

Before you start, make sure you have the following:

  • Auth0 account

  • Auth0 tenant

  • Auth0 app, configured with interactive login and programmatic access.

Add SAML support to your Auth0 application

Do the following:

  1. In Auth0, go to Applications and select your single page application.

  2. Open the Addons tab.

  3. Toggle on the SAML2 option.

The Addon: SAML2 Web App opens.

  4. Open the Usage tab.

  5. Download the Identity Provider Metadata.

You need the metadata when you configure the virtual proxy in the QMC.

  6. Open the Settings tab.

  7. In the Application Callback URL box, enter the URL you plan to use, in the following format: https://<your-qsefw-hostname>:<port>/<prefix>/samlauthn.

  8. Scroll down and click Debug.

You will get a value that you need later. You log in via SAML and these settings will give you the values passed via SAML. From these, you can pick out the field you want to use for login. You can, for example, choose http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress as the value, if you want the login name to be your email address.

  9. Scroll down and click Save.

You are now ready to configure SAML with Auth0 in Qlik Sense Enterprise for Windows.
