Tutorial - Building an App

Welcome to this tutorial, which will introduce you to app building in Qlik Sense. Qlik Sense is a software product that is used to extract and present data in an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. You extract data by making selections in Qlik Sense. When you make a selection, the app immediately filters the data and presents all associated items.

What you will learn

This tutorial guides you through the building of an app from scratch. You start with an empty sheet and finish with a good-looking app. When you have completed the tutorial, you should have a fair understanding of the different steps involved in the building of a Qlik Sense app. You will also be aware of some of the necessary considerations related to the design of the app.

Who should take this course

It is assumed that you are familiar with the basics of Qlik Sense. You know how to make selections and how to interpret the results of your selection.

What you need to do before you start

Before you can start working with Qlik Sense, you need access to Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes.

You start Qlik Sense by entering a web address in your browser, such as https://<your tenant address>. If a login window is opened in your browser, enter your User name and Password. The exact address and credentials that you enter depend on how your organization has deployed Qlik Sense.

You should also be allowed to load data in your edition of Qlik Sense. You need these files to complete the tutorial.
