Spaces are a way to organize content within security boundaries allowing resources (such as apps) to be shared and collaborated on. A user or group can be assigned to one or more roles within a space.
There are three types of spaces in Qlik Sense:
A personal space is your own private work area in the cloud hub. You can share apps from your personal space but other users cannot collaborate with you.
- Shared spaces:
Shared spaces are used to collaboratively develop apps and share them with other users in the space. A team might have a shared space for the private development and consumption of their own apps. Only the space owner and target app consumers can open the apps.
- Managed spaces:
Managed spaces provide governed access to apps with strict access control both for the app and the app data. Users cannot create or edit apps in managed spaces. Only the space owner and target app consumers can open the apps. Users with “publish” access can publish apps to a managed space.
The spaces service API can be used to:
- Create, retrieve, update, and delete spaces.
- Create, retrieve, update, and delete assignments of the space.
To access the spaces service API, you must have an Access Token, which you get from your IdP. Include the Access Token in an Authorization header when you make the API request.
