# Delete user

## Description

This API is used to notify the Session module that the user has been logged out. The session module deletes all the session objects with the `{directory}` and `{id}` corresponding to `UserDirectory` and `UserId`.

Information note If the Session module is to handle timeouts and/or other kinds of invalidation of sessions or users, the module uses the [Authentication API](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/November2025/Subsystems/ProxyServiceAPI/Content/Sense_ProxyServiceAPI/ProxyServiceAPI-ProxyServiceAPI-Authentication.htm) exposed by the Proxy to notify the Proxy that users and sessions have been deleted.
