# Get the handle of a dimension

Get the handle of a dimension by using the [GetDimension method](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/November2025/Subsystems/EngineJSONAPI/Content/service-doc-getdimension.htm).

## Example

#### The goal is to get the handle of the dimension Di01.

The handle of the app is 1.

The client sends:
