# Is the user working in personal mode?

Find out if a user is working in personal mode (using Qlik Sense Desktop) by using the [IsPersonalMode method](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/November2025/Subsystems/EngineJSONAPI/Content/service-global-ispersonalmode.htm).

Warning noteThis API is deprecated and may be removed in a future version. Use GetConfiguration method instead.

## Example

The client sends:

The engine returns:

The engine returns true, which means that the user is working in Qlik Sense Desktop
