# Get the name of the operating system

Get the name of the operating system by using the [OSName method](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/November2025/Subsystems/EngineJSONAPI/Content/service-global-osname.htm).

## Example

The client sends:

The engine returns:

The name of the operation system is displayed.
