# Get the properties of a variable

Get the properties of a variable by using the [GetProperties method](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/November2024/Subsystems/EngineJSONAPI/Content/service-genericvariable-getproperties.htm).

#### The goal is to get the properties of a variable.

Prerequisite:

The variable VB01 is previously created. The handle of the variable is 2.

Get the properties of a variable.

The client sends:
