# getContent method

Gets variable content.

### name

Type: String

Variable name.

### callback

Type: [getContentCallback](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/November2024/Subsystems/APIs/Content/Sense_ClientAPIs/CapabilityAPIs/VariableAPI/getContentCallback-typedef.htm)

Callback to receive the content.

## Returns

A promise of a Qlik associative engine reply.
