# toggleSelect method

Toggles a field selection.

## Parameters

### match

Type: String

Match string.

Information noteThe toggleSelect() method accepts a string to search for. The string can contain wildcards or numeric search criteria. If you want to search for an exact string match, use the [selectValues method](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/November2024/Subsystems/APIs/Content/Sense_ClientAPIs/CapabilityAPIs/FieldAPI/selectValues-method.htm) instead.

### softlock

Type: Boolean

Optional.

If true, locked selections can be overridden.
