# Get the handle of an object

Get the type and the handle of an object by using the [GetObject method](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/May2025/Subsystems/EngineJSONAPI/Content/service-doc-getobject.htm).

#### The client wants to get the handle of an object (qId is LO01).

The handle of the app is 1.

The client sends:
