Dev Hub tools

The Dev Hub consists of a number of tools. The tools available to you are visible from the Dev Hub start page.

  • The Single configurator is a Qlik Sense tool that provides an easy way of creating simple mashup pages without having to write any code. It returns a Qlik Sense object, which is identified in a URL. The Qlik Sense object is, typically, a visualization from an app, for example a line chart.

  • The Extension editor assists you getting started creating visualization extensions. It supports JavaScript, QEXT, HTML, and CSS file formats. A number of templates and examples are delivered with the installation of Qlik Sense to help you start building your own visualization extensions.

  • The Mashup editor assists you in getting started creating mashups displaying Qlik Sense data on your web page. It supports JavaScript, HTML, and CSS file formats. A number of templates and a code example are delivered with the installation of Qlik Sense to help you start building your own mashups.

    Note: The Single configurator creates a URL that returns a complete HTML page that contains something generic, of which an embedded visualization is an example. This URL can be embedded in a web page by including it in an iframe, for example .
  • The Widget editor assists you getting started creating widgets to enhance your visualizations. Widgets are created and edited using just HTML and CSS alone, no JavaScript or knowledge of other programming languages is required. A library of example widgets is available with the Qlik Sense installation.

  • The Engine API Explorer is a tool that helps you understand the Engine API. It passes information between the Qlik Associative Engine and clients.

  • The QlikView converter tool supports the conversion of QlikView documents (.qvw files) to Qlik Sense apps.
