Business cloud

A Qlik Sense Cloud Business subscription gives you a group workspace where you can develop and share Qlik Sense apps with colleagues. You have complete control over who can work on your apps and who can see your apps.

  • Purchase a Qlik Sense Cloud Business subscription

To get started with your group, upgrade your free Qlik Sense Cloud Basic to a Qlik Sense Cloud Business subscription.

For more information, see Upgrading your cloud subscription.

  • Set up your new group

After you have purchased a business subscription, a new group is added to your Qlik Sense Cloud. Select the group from the drop-down list in the left menu.

For more information, see Setting up a new group.

  • Invite members to your group

After you have set up your group, invite members to the group. You can also do this later, if you choose.

For more information, see Inviting and removing group members.

  • Add group members to your group workspace

A group member cannot perform any tasks in your group workspace. You have to first add the group member to your group workspace. You can also do this later, if you choose.

When you add a group member to a group workspace, they become a group workspace editor. The group workspace editor can create apps, add data, and so on. They can also publish apps to a stream, if they are a viewer of that stream.

You can add a group member to your group workspace, even if they have not yet accepted their invitation to your group.

For more information, see Adding and removing group workspace editors.

  • Create streams

Create streams so that you have a location where you can publish your apps. You can also do this later, if you choose. For example, you can wait to create stream until you are ready to publish.

For more information, see Creating and removing group streams.

  • Add stream viewers

After you create a stream, add group members to the stream. You can also do this later, if you choose. When you add a group member to a stream, they become a stream viewer. They can interact with the apps that you publish to the stream.

For more information, see Adding and removing group stream viewers.

  • Create or upload an app

Create and name a new app in your workspace. When you do, an app icon appears in the workspace. An app is empty when you first create it. Click on the app icon to open the app. You can also upload an app from your computer.

For more information, see Creating or uploading apps in your group workspace.

  • Select and load your data

After you have opened your app, choose your data source. There are different ways to do this.

You can attach a data file, for example an Excel file, to your app. You can also create a connection to a database, for example a Salesforce database.

You can also upload a data file to your group workspace. You can then use that data file in all the apps in your group workspace.

After you have chosen your data source, you can load the data into your app.

For more information, see Adding data to the app.

  • Create sheets

After you have loaded your data, create a sheet in the app. The sheet will contain the charts that you build with your data.

For more information, see Structuring an app using sheets.

  • Build charts and tables

Choose different types of chart and tables to place on your sheet. Charts are also called visualizations. An example of a chart is a bar chart.

When you have placed the chart or table, select the data that you want to use from your data source.

The dimensions and measures that you choose for your chart will depend on the subset of data that you want to analyze, and the type of chart that you want to build. As you are building your chart, you can change the appearance, for example colors, data sorting, and so on.

For more information, see Creating and editing visualizations.

  • Share the app

When you are ready to share your app with others, publish it to a stream. Stream viewers can then interact with the app.

For more information, see Publishing apps to your group stream.

  • Reload your data

Reload data in your app as needed. You can do this manually, or on a schedule that you choose.

For more information, see Refreshing data in group apps.
