Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes minimal deployment

The diagram below shows a minimal Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes deployment. A minimal deployment is the smallest Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes deployment, and illustrates most simply the Kubernetes deployment with a single master/controller node and a single worker node.

The characteristics of a minimal Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes deployment are:

  • A single master/controller node.
  • A single worker node onto which the pods are deployed.
  • Both master/controller and worker node are in a single availability zone.
  • Users are authenticated through the identity provider.
  • A MongoDB and a persistent data store are configured to store metadata and regular data respectively.

Who should consider this type of Qlik Sense Enterprise on Kubernetes deployment:

  • If you want to keep hosting costs to a minimum as a small deployment like this uses far fewer resources than a large multi-node deployment.
  • If you are less concerned with maximum up-time.
  • If you want the easiest deployment to set up and configure.
Note: The deployment example above can be scaled out with multiple nodes and pod replication.
