Migrating apps means moving apps from an older version of Qlik Sense to a newer version.
You are most likely to need to migrate an app in the following circumstances:
- When upgrading Qlik Sense.
- When importing an old app.
App migration is not performed automatically when starting Qlik Sense. An app with a Qlik Sense version later than 3.2 is migrated on the fly when you open it in the hub. On the apps overview page in the QMC you can see if there are apps that require manual migration. The status Unmigrated is displayed in the Migration status column for apps that have not been migrated. Those are either apps that are auto-migrated when opened or apps with a Qlik Sense version earlier than 3.2 that require manual migration. Use the Migrate button to perform manual migration.
You can migrate apps from version 1.0 of Qlik Sense and newer, to more recent versions of Qlik Sense.
Apps that have not been migrated
When apps have not been migrated, the Apps tab on the QMC start page shows the number of unmigrated apps. On the Apps overview page you can see the status for each app under the column Migration status.
The following status values can be displayed when migrating an app:
If all apps are successfully migrated, the migrate button and migration status column are not displayed on the apps overview page.
Migrating apps manually
Do the following:
Navigate to the apps overview page.
Select the apps with the status Unmigrated.
In the action bar at the bottom, click Migrate.
