# Using a MySQL-based database as a source

This section describes how to set up and use a MySQL-based database as a source in a replication task.

You need to configure the Replicate MySQL endpoint when replicating from any of the following databases:

* MySQL
* Percona
* MariaDB
* Microsoft Azure Database for MySQL - Flexible Server
* Amazon Aurora

Information note

The procedures for configuring connectivity to these endpoints are identical to those described in this section, for MySQL. However, when using Percona as a source, the CDC prerequisites described in *[Prerequisites](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/replicate/May2026/Content/Global_Common/Content/SharedReplicateHDD/MySQL-Source/prereq-mysql-source.htm) are not relevant*.
