Reverse proxy authentication
Qlik NPrinting Designer supports reverse proxy environments. Users will have an extra log in step before they can edit report templates.
Reverse proxies add extra layers of security by being an intermediary for associated servers contacted by any client. They can hide the existence and characteristics of origin servers.
When users try to connect to Qlik NPrinting Server, a dialogue window with an embedded browser will open, and let them authenticate manually. Cookies are collected so users will not have to complete this extra step each time, only when the cookies expire.
Do the following:

Open the Qlik NPrinting home page.
A dialogue window with gateway log in opens.

Enter your log in credentials.
You can now access the Qlik NPrinting web console.
- In the main menu, click on Reports.

Click on the report you want to edit, and then click Edit template.
The Qlik NPrinting Designer will try to connect to the Qlik NPrinting Server. The Qlik NPrinting Designer is not authenticated in the reverse proxy, so the request will fail.

A dialogue box with an embedded web browser will open. Type in your log in credentials for the reverse proxy gateway.
Qlik NPrinting Designer saves the cookies that will allow it to communicate with the server through the reverse proxy. The saved cookies will be used for future connections. When they expire, you will have to log in to the proxy again.
