# Setting up users

Setting up users in NodeGraph is part of the Authentication protocol. Please see [Authentication](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nodegraph/Content/NodeGraph/Documentation/Configuring_NodeGraph/Authentication.htm) for more information.

Data Catalog Roles are assigned through the User management page. Please see section [Default roles](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nodegraph/Content/NodeGraph/Documentation/Role_Management.htm#Default) for more information about Roles and how to assign them.
