# Import QlikView Applications

The Import QlikView Applications step imports all converted QlikView applications listed in the migration plan by retrieving the `.QVF` files from the Converted Apps folder inside the project directory and creating them in the Qlik Cloud tenant.

## Prerequisite steps

* `Convert QlikView Applications`

## Step details

* Source files:
  The applications are sourced from the `.QVF` files generated during the conversion process. These files contain the transformed contents of the original QlikView applications.

* Deployment in Qlik Cloud:
  Each application is created as a new app in Qlik Cloud, including all extracted variables, master items, and visualizations.

* Metadata Tagging:
  Upon import, the app description is automatically updated to include a JSON object. This object contains:

  * A unique internal ID generated during retrieval
  * Any metadata required to trace the app's source

  This structured metadata allows other migration steps to locate and operate on the correct app consistently.

## Notes

* To restore original app descriptions after the migration, use the Reset QlikView App Descriptions step in the Post Migration category.
