# Creating a Qlik NPrinting connection

This page describes how to configure a connection to a Qlik NPrinting environment within the Qlik Analytics Migration Tool. This connection enables the retrieval of NPrinting entities as part of a broader Qlik Sense migration to Qlik Cloud.

## Steps to create a Qlik NPrinting connection

Do the following:

1. Open the Connections tab and select the Qlik NPrinting option.

2. Click Create New.

3. In the Connection Name field, enter a descriptive label for the connection (for example, `NPrinting-Prod`).

4. In the Qlik NPrinting Server URL field, specify the full URL to the NPrinting server, including the port. This is typically formatted as `https://qliknprintingserver.com:4993`.

5. API Key is the Authentication Type for this type of connection. This method uses a JWT-based API token for authentication. A key must be generated within the Qlik NPrinting environment.  
   Paste the token into the API Key field. The value will be masked automatically.

6. Click Test Connection to validate access to the NPrinting server.

   * A success message confirms that the credentials and server URL are correct.
   * If the test fails, verify the authentication details and server URL, and consult the error message for additional context.

7. Click Create Connection to finalize the setup.

8. A confirmation message will appear, and the connection will be added to the connections list.
