The Governance Dashboard Sessions sheet presents user activity, a heatmap of user activity by node and application, and timelines of concurrent sessions. data applications users have accessed, how often and when.
The User Activity section presents session data broken down by users, such as which applications users have accessed, how often and when. The Session Usage Summary chart at the top shows the total number of applications used, the number of sessions run concurrently, the number of unique users in the sessions and the ration of users to sessions.
The Usage Timeline graph shows session usage over a selected period.
The Usage Detail table provides two views: sort and drill. Sort View allows ranking on all columns. For example, you can see which users open the most unique documents. Drill View provides two cyclic columns to analyze users and documents.
The Audit Summary table summarizes user activity by document, object type, actions, and object identifier. It includes a count of how many times an action occurred, how many users performed the action, and when the action was last performed.
The Object Type and Action describe the type of application object the user acted upon (for example, sheet, sheet object, selection, bookmark) and the actions taken (for example, SendToExcel, maximize, selected fields). The ObjectId is the app-specific
The Session Heatmap section displays the days on which there was session activity on the selected Server node. The number of days is based on the Heatmap & Concurrency Days setting on the Configuration sheet. The days are not the last number of sequential days. They are only days on which sessions were opened.
The heatmap allows you to change the setting for day or weekday, which enables you to view the hourly data for each day by date or by day of the week. Viewing the heatmap by weekday allows you to see the busy periods as measured across weeks and months. This is designed to help with capacity planning.
Deeper red indicates greater number of sessions. The scale at the upper right indicates the highest number of sessions recorded.
Displays the maximum concurrent sessions by minute for each hour of the day for the past 90 days. It aggregates the maximum concurrency by server (node) and license type (CAL Type).
Two views of concurrent sessions are available:
- Aggregate view
- Drill view
Both views include a common Concurrent Session Timeline Detail pivot chart.
The aggregate view shows concurrent sessions by one dimension: hour (default), other time increment, or node or
The caption in this chart adjusts to show whether filters have been applied. The aggregate view shows the maximum concurrent session for any one
The view can be cycled to display additional dimensions, such as date, day of week, weeks per year, and month per year.
With the drill view, you can extend the maximum concurrent sessions analysis across two dimensions, with each dimension being adjusted using the cyclic drill group. When the mouse hovers over the vertical bars in the chart, the maximum concurrent sessions count on node pops up. Keep in mind that this maximum concurrent session count is for one
