# put\_server\_license

Registers a license on a specific server via Qlik Enterprise Manager.

Required User Role: See [Required Enterprise Manager permissions](https://help.qlik.com/en-US/enterprise-manager/May2025/Content/EnterpriseManager/EnterpriseManager_APIGuide/Introduction/AEMPermissions.htm).

## Syntax

`def put_server_license(` ` self,  ` ` payload,  ` `server` `)`

## Parameters

Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| payload | string | The license to register on the server [stream].<br><br>This is the license that was provided by your Qlik Sales Representative.<br><br>Expected format: Text or JSON.<br>Currently refers to the Replicate license only. |
| server | string | The name of the server. |

Error responses

| AEM\_PUT\_SRV\_LIC\_INNER\_ERR | Failed to put license for server "{server}".<br><br>Error: "{message}" | Returned if Qlik Enterprise Manager encounters an error/exception when trying to register the license on the specified server. |
| AEM\_SRV\_LIC\_INVALID\_FORMAT | The license file format is corrupt. | Returned when the contents of the license file are invalid. |
