Install the Qlik REST Connector for QlikView

The Qlik REST Connector must be installed manually for QlikView.

For Qlik Sense, the Qlik REST Connector is installed automatically and does not require separate installation. The connector can be excluded from the Qlik Sense installation if necessary. For more information, see Excluding the Qlik REST Connector from Qlik Sense installation.

Warning noteIf any version of the Qlik REST Connector is installed on the system, it must be uninstalled before the current version can be installed.
Information note If you intend to use the REST Connector with QlikView on a system with Qlik Sense Desktop, you install it with the QlikRestConnector_setup.exe after you have installed Qlik Sense Desktop.
Information noteIn a multi-node deployment where QlikView Server (QVS) and QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) are installed in separate nodes, the connector must be installed on all the machines running the QDS.

System requirements

Qlik REST Connector only runs on systems with 64-bit processors. It can be installed on any 64-bit system that runs QlikView. For more information, see: System requirements for QlikView.

Qlik REST Connector also requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or later.

The Qlik REST Connector runs with QlikView and is designed to work with the same web browsers as QlikView.

Installing the connector

Do the following:

  1. Download the QlikRestConnector_setup.exe file from Product Downloads.

    Install connectors separately

  2. Run the QlikRestConnector_setup.exe.

The Qlik REST Connector installation wizard sets up the installation environment and completes the installation.

The connector is then available from QlikView with the name Qlik REST Connector.

  3. Start QlikView.

When you open the Edit Script dialog in QlikView, the REST Connector is available as a connector.
