# Move file block

The move file block moves a file from one location to another on a cloud storage provider.

A move file block is commonly used in the following situation:

* When you move files from one location to another while an automation is executed.

## Configuring a move file block

Configure the block to move a source file from one location to another.

## Inputs

The move file block requires an authenticated connection to a cloud storage provider, a source path, and a destination path. The path fields can have field mapped values from preceding blocks.

## Settings

The Settings tab is where you choose what the block does if it encounters an error.

## Connection

The Connection tab is where you can authenticate your cloud storage provider. Once you select the storage provider on the Inputs tab, a Connect button appears here which opens up an authentication window. You must authenticate the connection to use this block.
