You need to connect to a data source before you can create visualizations in a Qlik Sense app. Data sources can be added in apps or from the cloud hub. You can preview and manipulate your data in the Data manager. When you are ready, load your data into your app.
Connecting to your data
If your data is in a file on your computer, you can upload it into your cloud using DataFiles.
If your data is in a database, you can use a connector.
You can add and manage data files and connections directly in the cloud hub.
Adding and loading your data
Once you have connected your data, Qlik Sense gives you a preview in the Data manager associations window. You can add more data sources, transform the data, and associate tables.
When you are done preparing your data, click the Load data button. You can now use your data to create visualizations in your app.
If you are a more advanced user, you can use the data load script.
Here are some things you can try:
- Step-by-step - Combining tables using forced concatenation
- Step-by-step - Incrementing data loads using the Store command
If you have on-premises data sources inaccessible to SaaS editions of Qlik Sense, you can upload the data using Qlik DataTransfer.
