Qlik Sense Workbench

Qlik Sense Workbench is a development toolbox that helps you getting started building solutions with Qlik Sense as well as understanding the APIs. This introduction gives you an overview of the fundamental concepts and features of Qlik Sense Workbench.

There is no separate installation package or additional license necessary for using the capabilities of Qlik Sense Workbench. The editors, templates and code examples are provided with your default installation of Qlik Sense.

Workbench editors

The Extension editor is an editor for JavaScript files and QEXT files. It assists you in creating new visualization extensions as well as in editing existing ones. You can use the templates provided with Qlik Sense to get started building your custom visualization extensions.

The Mashup editor is an editor for JavaScript files and HTML files. It assists you in creating your own mashups displaying Qlik Sense data on your website. You can use the templates provided with Qlik Sense to get started building your own mashups.

The Single configurator is a Qlik Sense tool that provides an easy way of creating simple mashup pages without having to write any code at all. It returns a Qlik Sense object, which is identified in an URL. The Qlik Sense object is typically a visualization from an app, for example a Line chart.

The Single configurator creates an URL that returns a complete HTML page containing for example an embedded Qlik Sense visualization. This URL can be embedded in a web page, for example by including it in an iframe.
